Return to view all job openingsVision Teacher (TVI) or Orientation and Mobility Specialist (O&M) provide individual care, and support services for individuals and their families from birth to 3 year old who have, or who may be at risk for, vision concerns, delays, developmental disabilities, intellectual disabilities or related conditions, and social, emotional, and/or behavioral disorders.
Responsible for providing functional vision evaluations and ongoing vision services.
Demonstrate knowledge in vision impairments, trans-disciplinary theories, and evidenced based practice for children birth to 3 years old.
Develop and implement treatment programs to meet the individual needs of the visually impaired child in natural environments.
Assess /recommend adaptive equipment as needed.
Train staff and families in the use of adaptive strategies and equipment.
Communicate effectively with families, members of the Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP) team, and other health care providers regarding diagnosis and therapy.
Complete timely documentation including progress notes, reports and Medicaid authorizations.
This position requires travel throughout Northern Nevada.
