Voc Rehab Administrator II

Pay Grade 16  Salary $5,117.58 Monthly

Location Varies-
Louisville, Lexington, Bowling Green, Frankfort, Prestonsburg, Covington, or Elizabethtown

We are seeking a Voc Rehab Administrator II to develop and administer statewide vocational rehabilitation programs. Coordinate, evaluate, and monitor all aspects of the program(s). Provide administrative support in data analysis and management of budgetary and programmatic areas as it relates to the programs they manage.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Provides coordination for all aspects of the Kentucky OVR Deafblind Services, including technical assistance to Office of Vocational Rehabilitation (OVR) staff statewide, defining program goals and objectives, maintaining detailed records of services to consumers, developing outreach materials, and writing policies related to providing services for individuals who are Deafblind.
  • Coordinates and/or directly provides for a person-centered planning approach to services for OVR consumers and their families and networks; coordinates and participates in meetings for consumer, family members and interagency team. Completes necessary documentation and reports regarding consumer progress, and communicates regularly with referring VR counselor.
  • Provides technical assistance to OVR staff to identify specialized resources, assistive technology training, employment, and other services for individuals who are Deafblind, and consults on issues such as appropriate Deafblind etiquette.
  • Provides and coordinates training for OVR staff to increase familiarity with state and national services and organizations that specialize in services designed to increase training and job opportunities for individuals who are Deafblind.
  • Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with other public and private organizations in the state that specialize in services to individuals who are Deafblind. Maintain a registry database for identifying Kentuckians who are DeafBlind.
  • Perform other duties as required.

 

Minimum Requirements

EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a master's degree in rehabilitation, rehabilitation teaching or therapy, guidance and/or counseling, psychology, sociology, orientation and mobility, social work, special education, education, education with emphasis in vocational counseling, public or business administration, or a related field.

 

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Five years of professional or administrative experience in a rehabilitation program or professional experience in rehabilitation, rehabilitation teaching or therapy, vocational assessment, employer relations, rehabilitation technology, rehabilitation counseling, vocational evaluation, supported employment, job placement, guidance and/or counseling, psychology, sociology, orientation and mobility, social work, special education, education, or education with emphasis in vocational counseling, customized employment, health studies, human relations, human resources, occupational therapy, physical therapy, school counseling, or a related field. One year of the required experience must include rehabilitation management or supervisory experience.

 

Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Current certification as a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) will substitute for one year of the required experience.

 

Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: A bachelor's degree plus an additional two years of professional experience in rehabilitation, rehabilitation teaching or therapy, vocational assessment, employer relations, rehabilitation technology, rehabilitation counseling, vocational evaluation, supported employment, job placement, guidance and/or counseling, psychology, sociology, orientation and mobility, social work, special education, education, education with emphasis in vocational counseling, customized employment, health studies, human relations, human resources, occupational therapy, physical therapy, school counseling, or a related field will substitute for the required master's degree.

Ability to communicate with individuals who are Deafblind. Able to define and provide person-centered approach to counseling for individuals who are DeafBlind.

Has a working knowledge of the specialized employment, assistive technology, and independent living services available to individuals who are Deafblind. Able to consult on training and employment issues such as job coaching, site analysis, and assistive technology.
