Consult with local school districts and agencies to assist in the assessment and instruction of students who are blind or visually impaired and to families, if required, in accordance with Parts B and C of IDEA.  Assist local school districts in the assessment of identified students who are blind or visually impaired and the reporting of educational and adaptive needs in the areas of cognition, literacy social, self-help and other areas specific to blindness. Works with local school districts to schedule lessons and provide itinerant instruction in Braille, use of residual vision, adaptation of instructional materials and other unique needs of students with visual impairments.
